Student at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, Gujarat (India) Download Manuscript doi.org/10.70183/lijdlr.2026.v04.345 The rapid expansion of digital technology has transformed communication, education, employment and social interaction, but it has simultaneously created new spaces for harassment, exploitation and abuse. Women increasingly encounter cyber offences such as cyberstalking, impersonation, identity theft, online harassment, non-consensual dissemination of intimate material, morphing, cyberbullying and other forms of technology-facilitated abuse. The nature of these offences makes them particularly challenging because perpetrators may operate anonymously, evidence can be altered or deleted rapidly, and harmful content can spread across multiple jurisdictions within a short period. This paper examines the Indian legal framework applicable to cybercrime against women and evaluates the extent to which existing laws and institutional mechanisms respond to the distinctive difficulties associated with online offences. It studies relevant provisions of the Information Technology Act, 2000, the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023 and the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, together with significant judicial decisions concerning online harassment, privacy, intermediary responsibility and unlawful digital content. The paper further examines institutional mechanisms including the National Cyber Crime Reporting Portal and the Indian Cybercrime Coordination Centre. Particular attention is given to under-reporting, difficulties in identification of perpetrators, preservation and admissibility of electronic evidence, intermediary cooperation, privacy concerns and the emotional and social consequences experienced by victims. The study adopts a doctrinal methodology supported by secondary literature and government materials. It argues that although India possesses several overlapping legal remedies, the framework remains fragmented and its effectiveness depends substantially upon implementation, technological capacity and victim-oriented reporting mechanisms. The paper proposes measures aimed at improving investigation, digital evidence handling, institutional coordination, awareness and access to justice.

It seeks to analyze the social conditions in which we are living and the manner in which mobile phones are misused, sometimes leading individuals towards criminal behavior. India is not only the second most populous country in the world but also has one of the largest populations of mobile and internet users. The internet has contracted the world into a small village, and people increasingly depend upon it for a wide range of activities. Earlier, internet access was largely limited to computers, which were not easily approachable for everyone. Mobile phones have not only brought the internet into every pocket but have also made pornographic content easily accessible. A large number of teenagers in India who use mobile phones have been exposed to pornographic material. Ethically and morally, watching pornography is often considered unacceptable, but an important question arises as to whether it is legal in India. Another crucial question is whether watching pornography contributes to an increase in rape cases. These issues came into sharp focus after the Nirbhya rape case in Delhi, which generated widespread public outrage and compelled the government to amend rape laws, resulting in the Criminal Law Amendment Act, 2013. Despite such legal reforms, the number of rape cases has not declined significantly, and reports of sexual violence continue to appear almost daily in newspapers. Various reasons have been suggested by politicians and social commentators for such crimes, including westernization, short skirts, dating culture, and films. However, these explanations appear superficial. What is required is a fundamental change in social mentality towards women, recognizing them as equal human beings with the same dignity and status as men. This paper concludes by examining the relationship among mobile phones, pornography, and rape in an impartial manner and by suggesting possible solutions to the problem.

In many developing nations, including India, the age-old issues like lack of access to education and opportunities in various spheres of society, the underutilization of women workforce, unequal pay, and rejection of the third gender is a hindrance to effective utilization of human resources that has become one of the major causes of their economies’ poor growth. This study explores the complex relationship between gender inequality and economics, focusing on the significant influence that gender-based discrepancies have on economic results. This study examines the complex aspects of gender differences in the field of economics using an interdisciplinary approach that incorporates viewpoints from feminist jurisprudence, sociology, philosophy and economics. We have uncovered the profound effects of these differences on people’s well-being in larger economic systems, in addition, the paper realizes the role of personal relationships, unequal wages, multi-tasking, general stigma against third gender as a root cause of gender biasness in India with reference to other economies. While gender equality is a crucial development objective per se, the economic engagement of women and third gender play a prominent role in stability and growth of an economy. The equal participation of different genders can accelerate the growth of a nation having a progressing economy. The research aims to uncover these problems and emphasizes how crucial it is to address gender inequality as a matter of social justice as well as a vital element of equitable and sustainable economic development.

Drawing on a comprehensive review of scholarly literature and empirical evidence, this paper examines how gender dynamics influence conflict processes, including recruitment, participation, victimization, and peacebuilding efforts. By analyzing case studies from various regions and conflict contexts, this paper highlights the diverse roles and experiences of individuals based on gender identity, social norms, and power structures. Furthermore, this paper critically evaluates the effectiveness of existing policies and interventions in addressing gender-based vulnerabilities and promoting gender-responsive approaches to conflict prevention, resolution, and post-conflict reconstruction. Download Manuscript ABSTRACT In India sex work existed in our society since ancient times. Earlier when kings used to rule, there was concept of Nagar Vadhu, which meant bride of the city. The most beautiful and talented woman in various dance forms used to get the title. Her position was respected but she was within the reach of rich ones only. During the Mughal era, there were Tawaifs. They were basically the talented women in arts who also escorting the Royals. and There were Devadasi who used to dedicate their life in worship and service of deity and temple. But during British era, they lost their significance and got associated with so called sacred prostitution. There are inscriptions, discoveries, texts as well as believes which clearly shows the existence of prostitution in throughout different parts of the world since ancient times. Even after seventy-five years of independence, this social evil still persists in our society. There are legislations, legal framework and the Hon’ble Court judgments in order to protect the rights and interests of victims of this evil, still the ground level reality is horrifying. Women and children are the victims of prostitution. No one gets into this pit on their own, but it is such swamp that it doesn’t let the victims come out. Over years sex wok has become profession. Victims of this evil don’t have resources to sustain themselves and sex work is the easiest way out. The objective of this article is to analyse the various challenges faced by such victims. Access to a variety of information is now simpler than ever.  Although technology development is a benefit, many issues arise. They are never overwhelming. Technological itself most frequently arrives with remedies Owing to technological developments, this accessibility has also created a pandora box of false and incorrect material accessible on many academic and non-academic sites. It is thus essential that correct and well investigated information be disseminated. Academic research is at stake here. Good academic research is also essential in the creation of well-written and comprehensive textbooks which may be utilised for academic purposes. The recent High Court decision in Delhi that acknowledged this concept was welcomed by students, Indian publishers, etc. as historical. This article would thus analyse the exemption to fair usage for educational or scholarly reasons. It also explains the Indian stance on copying, whether it constitutes a copyright violation in light of the current High Court decision in Delhi. Further this article will also analyse the implications of the case Delhi University which dealt with copyright law and fair use in context of authorial rights and academic access.
